About Us
Tim Cronquist
Every day there is a new challenge and learning experience. No day is the same. Every day is an adventure.
Tim began working in construction in 1997 as a carpenter apprentice in Iowa City. He was promoted to Foreman in 2001. In 2009 he took his knowledge and started his own drywall company. In 2012, he was presented with an opportunity to join a new General Contracting company that is now RoCon Construction.
Tim and his business partner, Marty Roth, founded RoCon Construction in October of 2012. After five successful years, Marty retired and Tim took full ownership of RoCon in 2017. Since then, RoCon has continued to grow into the General Contracting company you see today.
Tim married Carrie Cronquist in January of 1998 and since then they have had seven beautiful children, three lovely granddaughters, and experienced a whole lot of life. In his free time, Tim loves spending time with his family, fishing, and landscaping with his new tractor.
Matt O'Neal
RoCon is more than a job - here we are part of something more akin to a family rather than just a company. I am constantly motivated by RoCon's pursuit of excellence.
Matt began working construction in 1993. In his summers during high school, he worked as a residential home carpenter. After high school, Matt worked for various construction companies until taking a job at RoCon Construction in 2012.
At RoCon, Matt went from a field carpenter, to a superintendent, to a project manager, and in February 2022, he was promoted to Lead Estimator of RoCon Construction. In this role, Matt reviews potential projects, engages with potential and current clients, and prepares project proposals and estimates in a timely manner. RoCon would not be able to grow into the successful company it is today without Matt’s diligence and dedication.
Matt enjoys spending time with his four wonderful children and his grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys working with his hands in his garden, reading, and is interested in state and national politics while being actively involved in local political committees.
Matthew Cronquist
I love the opportunity I get from RoCon to grow and be better.
Matthew started as a carpenter at RoCon in 2019. In fall of 2020, Matthew ran his first project as a superintendent. He worked as a superintendent until Spring of 2022 when he was promoted to Project Manager, focusing solely on projects at the University of Iowa Hospital. In Summer of 2023, Matthew became the Construction Manager at RoCon Construction – shifting solely to on-site coordination, superintendent coordination, and carpentry.
In Matthew’s free time he loves spending time with his wife, Katie, and their two beautiful daughters. You can find him out on the greens golfing or out on the open road on his motorcycle.
James Dean
I feel at home at RoCon. I love being a part of something where we can build and grow together and where all input is valued.
James is RoCon’s Project Manager. James started working in construction right out of high school. He has performed electrical work, is an experienced welder and fabricator, and has operated heavy machinery. James also served as a Merchant Marine from 2000-2007. He came to RoCon in April of 2022 as a carpenter. In the beginning of 2023, he moved up to Project Manager. As Project Manager, he completes all data entry and submittals for all of RoCon’s projects. He works closely with subcontractors and suppliers as well as with RoCon’s Construction Manager, Matthew. James also schedules and coordinates the projects to ensure maximum efficiency on every site.
In his free time, James loves to spend time with his son, Parker. James is a skilled jiu jitsu martial artist and he spends a lot of time investing in his craft through practice and working out. He also loves to spend time fishing, enjoying concerts, and watching football.
Emily Cronquist
I love being a part of a team where we are all pushing each other to be our best. We try new things all the time and even if it doesn't work, we learn from that experience and move on to something better.
Emily is RoCon’s Account Manager. She has 5 years of Administrative experience and joined RoCon’s team in May 2023 to alleviate administrative duties. Since coming on, she has taken over the hiring and orientation process, the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments, and the Accounting department.
Emily loves to spend her free time with her friends and family, reading, and being outdoors.
